REPTILE PARK
Bali Reptile park is located between the village of Batubulan and Singapadu, only around 5 kms from east border of Denpasar city. It is on the left side of the road leading to Ubud via Singapadu instead of the older one via Celuk. The location is bordering with Bali Bird Park, and only 2 kms to the east is Bali Zoo park in the center of Singapadu village. So it is very good place for school children to arrange a sightseeing while learning various wild life, from the most dear one to the most savage animals.
At the zoos animals being looked after, that in most readings refer to as being captivated or animal captivation instead of animal care. Here at Bali Reftile park are cared various species of reptiles such as iquanas, snakes, lizards, crocodiles, varanus up to the biggest such as komodo dragon. Also various species of snakes from unvenomous up to the most venomous snakes such as varius cobras, kraits, vipers, and the gigantesque such as python, and boas.
This is good place for school children to learn about the reptile by seeing directly on the animals, so they will know exactly which of the animal is dangerous for human and which is not, and understand its role in the eco-system, not just it's frightening characters. The master can only ask special guidance to the park who can explain correctly each of the animal including what it eats, where it from or it's orignal habitat, as for example Bali does not have spitting cobra, although it is known that in Bali cobra can still be found in the nature. There is no corocodile living in Bali at least today, but might be in the past, just like leopard was prety sure lived in the forest of Bali until 5 decades ago, but now there is no trace of this animal still live in Bali in the pace of extending human activities and settlements on all of the island habitable zones. So such zoos whatever is called is very important for Balinese children, not limited to the visit of everybody including foreigners.
Special arrangment can be made to visit this park with only half day tour, or can be combined with other tours such as well known Kintamani mountain tour taking full day of 7 hours or Ubud artist village tour takeing only 5 hours starting from various places at Kuta, Sanur or Nusa Dua areas.
