TEGENUNGAN
One of the closest waterfall to the cities in South Bali such as Denpasar, Kuta, Nusa Dua is Tegenungan waterfall, located around 15 km from Denpasar city to the east, near the artist villages of Kemenuh. This waterfall from the current of Pekerisan river is quiet big, although not to high but the view is beautiful. The location is just on the side of main road between Denpasar and Gianyar city, when arrive at the town of Kemenuh one will see cross road with traffic light. The road to this waterfall is turning to the right, just follow the road and sign to the place is easily seen.
This waterfall is good to be combined with the sightseeing to Kintamani, Ubud and east Bali. While for the sightseeing to the south and west Bali it is not efficent to combine this vitit due to the contrary direction of the route. In the past until 1990s a bungee jumpign was constucted here using the fall basin as the plunge pool, but it seems very dangerous and non one was encouraged to try jumping here whcih at last close this adventure activity, and the tower is not seen anymore standing on the side of the ravine. To visit this place there is an entrance ticket around Rp 15.000 per person. A restaurant and drink stop are available at the west slope of the river where visitor's car can reach and park.
